Asbestos is a major cause of work-related deaths in New Zealand with around 170 people dying each year from asbestos-related diseases.
These serious health risks are caused from inhaling asbestos airborne fibres which cause permanent and irreversible damage to vital organs. Once the fibres are breathed in, they lodge in the lungs and may cause diseases like asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma.
The Approved Code of Practice for the Management and Removal of Asbestos (2016) provides clear guidance for management of these risks, including the requirement for Full Asbestos Medicals. As an employer our Full Asbestos Medicals, enable you to meet your requirements.
