ADVANCED FIRST AID
Life Care Consultants is providing a one day Advanced First Aid course to industry groups and individual participants.
This course offers people who have already completed their Workplace First Aid Course (US 6400, 6401, 6402) some advanced knowledge and skills which are specific to their workplace and in places where the arrival of emergency services may be delayed..
The Advanced First Aid course covers:
Mechanism of injury, Primary and secondary survey, Questioning, Vital signs: Pulse, respirations, level of consciousness, CPR and defibrillation, Managing the airway, Managing conditions which are specific to the industry or environment , Moving and positioning the patient, Managing the conscious patient, Managing the unconscious patient, Using their first aid kit
- Pre-requisite: Participants must have Unit Standards 6400, 6401, 6402 and have attended a refresher course for these Unit Standards in the last 2 years.
- Unit Standard 25411 - Demonstrate knowledge of and use an Automated External Defibrillator is desired.
- Competency in the skills is gained through the use of scenarios and skill stations throughout the day.
- Extrication devices and other equipment will be tailor-made to the equipment available to the first aider.
- Inclusion of actual scenarios based around your incident reports
Length: 1 Day ( 8 hours)
Cost: $2,500 plus GST for a corporate course for up to 15 participants.
